Fokion completed his Bachelor's in Biology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2018, and obtained his Master's degree in "Neurobiology: Molecular Neuroscience" at the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands) in 2020.

Currently, Fokion is a doctoral student in "Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience" at the University of Tuebingen, while working in the lab of Michela Deleidi. His project focuses on how bacterial amyloids act as initiators of Parkinson's disease pathology in human intestinal in vitro models using molecular and cellular biology readouts
